Tennant draws from spirituality, feminist theory and personal experience to weave a web of haunting and symbolically charged imagery. Although interdisciplinary, painting has become the overarching force. Balancing a line of realism and expressionism, her subjects swim in oil paint, emerging wild and animalistic, even violent at times. The natural world and fluidity of time play a key role in the fruition of every image, providing a steady undercurrent through her body of work.
